Sophie & William

I love second shooting.  None of the pressure and all of the fun!

Catherine of  Woodland Fields needed a second photographer for Sophie and William’s wedding to be held at a friend’s estate.  She had me at “the bride is gorgeous”.  She was so right.

Her mommy walked her down the aisle and I cried.  Love.

Dear Roxanne, T Rex and Johnnie

Dear Roxanne,

How did I get you?  What did I do so right in my life for you to be my little girl.

My smart, witty blue eyed girl with the big ole head.

You continue to run around without a shirt playing with your brothers and the boys next door.  Showing T Rex the best way to climb a tree.   The constant nurse to T Rex when he falls from that same tree.  “We gonna need a lot of bandaids, Mommy, cause T Rex is really clumsy”.

Still coming up with ideas to make money.  One of your recent money making ideas “Mommy, I’m not going to brush my teeth anymore cause I want them to fall out so I can get money from the Tooth Fairy”.

And already noticing boys, “Mommy, I have a new boyfriend.  His name is Chason and he really impresses me.  He has a way with girls and he makes me laugh all the time.”

Just remember what mommy and daddy insist on, NO dates until you have your black belt in Tae Kwon Do!

Love you more than a rainy day.

Dear T Rex,

My moody, beautiful,  loving little loner.

For Christmas, all you wanted were DINOSAURS!  And boy did Santa Claus make you happy.  You spend hours playing with your collection or watching dinosaur videos on youtube.

Constantly packing your book bag to go to Jurassic Park and every now and then you say I can go too.

“Mommy, what is your favorite dinosaur?”  My reply is always, “Triceratops”.  And for some reason that  makes you giggle.

You come into my room every morning, hug me and tell me “I love you mommy.”  My heart continues to break.  I love you too.

My favorite quote from you this year, “Mommy, you’re my Aunt.”

“Thomas, you are and will always be my little boy”.

Love you more than a rainy day.

Dear Johnnie,

My green eyed, loving, sensitive and athletic little boy.

For Christmas, Santa brought you a Fire Kindle!  Already figured out how to work it and ‘kicking behind’ on the racing games.

You always impress me with your athletic abilities.  At the Buddy Walk this year, you dunk the man on the first try with that throwing arm of yours!  While playing basketball with uncle Bruce, you were able to make the first basket!  The look on uncle Bruce’s face told me he was wowed.  And you continue to beat me in arm wrestling.

You love having your hair styled and getting new clothes.    Nobody does the preppy punk look better than you.  Ties with skulls and Converse high tops are all you!

You are the best big brother to T Rex and Rox.  Your heart is huge with love and sometimes heavy with worry.

I still have to force you to hug me and go after you for some Johnnie love.  You running and laughing the whole time.  Eventually, you will let me catch you.  I love you for that.

Love you more than a rainy day.

With Love…

…from us!

T Rex happily knows Santa will be bringing him lots of dinosaur toys this year.  He is ready!

Roxy Rox, is asking lots of questions like  “How does Santa live forever?  How can Santa get all those presents to ALL the kids?  Are you sure Santa is real?”  Of course Bruce tells her he does it all with magic and yes, Nutter Butter, there is a Santa Claus.

Johnnie, I think knows, but is such a good boy that he is keeping it under wraps to make everyone happy.

And my sixteen year old niece, Danielle.  I asked her what she wanted for Christmas.  Her reply, ” I just want to make sure Junior gets lots of presents.”

I went into the next room and cried.

Junior is her three year old little brother.

And I also want to share the card I made for BFF Steph.  Love!

This song, still able to choke me up at weddings…

“I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me”
