Laurel Grace’s Nursery

Her Mommy and Daddy moved to Tallahassee two months ago and mom went into full nesting mode to have Laurel Grace’s room finished before her arrival.

The tree and bird is a decal that came from Kohls.  The brown rocking chair was a Craigslist find.  Super comfy.

The bedding and mobile from Banana Fish.

The floating corner shelf from Home Depot.

The dress belonged to her mommy.

The dresser is amazing.  Mommy called weekly to see when it would go on sale.  Two days before the move to Tallahassee it was all hers!

The cool lamp from TJ Maxx.

Christina and Girls Pin Ups

My niece Christina is getting married next year!  She came into town to show me her dress and brought along her bridesmaids.

Which calls for some fun in the studio and for Aunt Titi to get in some studio lighting practice.

Christina and Bee Gee!

Jessica

Sloan.  Her little Cricket will be a flower girl along with Roxanne.  I so can’t wait for this big day.

Christina says they will be the Ying and Yang walking down the aisle.

Whitney

Nursery for Triplets

Two girls and one boy in one room.  Not only can it be done but done with style!

Hadley, Carson and Reese spend their nights in an apple colored room with brown undertones.  Horizontal stripes are on the featured wall with crispy white furniture to bring it all together

The cribs are mini cribs and were purchased from Our New Baby in Thomasville, GA.

The first thing you see when you enter the room is a little framed saying, “Keep Calm and Carry On”.

This was originally a propaganda poster produced by the British government in 1939, to only be used if the Nazis succeeded in invading Britian.

It is now used in many homes for decorating purposes.  I have seen them where they replace “Carry” with “Rock”.

Mom first saw this wall in the beloved Domino magazine.  She hired a local artist to reproduce exactly onto the feature wall.

Grandma Barbara made all the bedding and the window drapes.

A Philippe Starck lighting feature.  The same person that designed the Louis Ghost chairs.

“Go find elephants and kiss them.”  I tear up every time I read this.  Not sure why it strikes such a chord in me.

Shower Curtain Love

I loved it when I first saw it but I really love it now that it is hanging in Rox’s bathroom.
Thanks to the new shower curtain, I am working on a redo.

I think I will get mini white/grey tile for the floor. Take down the dolphin wallpaper border that was already here when I moved in. I will probably paint the room a dove grey.

I love the colors of a rainy day.

Rawlins’ Nursery

Little Rawlins is seven months and spending plenty of time daydreaming in his woods like nursery.

Mom purchased the rich brown wood crib, dresser and cradle from Green Frog Art.  The wood detailing is gorgeous.

She had the bedding custom made first with real burlap ties.  Well they would not tie correctly so switched it out for this fabric which was more pliable.

And the chair came from B. Braithwaite in Atlanta.  I read about this store all the time and have not visited it yet.  Hoping to visit it this summer

Mom use to spend her days in an art gallery in St. Petersburg, so her house is full of beautiful art work.  Rawlins nursery gets to house the Cornbread collection.  He is a folk artist from Georgia.

This reminds me of my fun childhood of feeding the chickens.

The gourd lamp is from Robert Abbey.  Love the blue color.

Right outside Rawlins’ window is a bird feeder that use to be full of the best bird seed that money could buy, but no little birdies visited.  All dreams of enjoying bird sightings with Rawlins flew out the window, until… she tried an inexpensive brand and the birds came a flocking.

Simple, classic and elegant.  They had Rawlins’ announcement framed for his room.  It looks like letterpress.

Yellow Pots

Yellow is one of my favorite colors right now.  So look what I went out and bought for the big birthday party for Rox, T Rex and Johnnie that will be happening in two years.

If any brides, friends or my floral friends would like to borrow these for a wedding or party, just let me know.  I have fourteen of them.  The height is five inches and the top diameter is five and half inches.

Steph already has dibs on them for one weekend.  :)

Another Great Day

Overheard in the car on the way home from daycare.

Roxanne to Thomas Elliot:  ” Dontcha know that dinosaurs are extinct!”

Thomas Elliot’s reply:  “Some dinosaurs stink and some dinosaurs smell good!”

I laughed so hard at these two.  Love them to pieces.

Kitty cats show up in our back yard  and since Bruce and I are big softies, we get them spayed/neutered and give them names.  Which pretty much means they are new additions to the family.

This is Ivy.  She showed up about four years ago.  Well, I ran over her paw while she was sleeping under my car about a week ago.  I feel so bad but hopefully every thing will heal correctly and she will not lose her leg.  She has a purple cast right now and Rox has been practicing her Veterinarian skills.

Here she is singing to Ivy.  “Cause that’s what veterinarians do to make kitties feel better.”

I would love to be able to decorate the whole house all at one time with an unlimited budget but alas I do not have that luxury.  I do a little at a time and day dream a lot.

Here is the dining room.  The table was the same color as the floor.  Was not crazy about it so I had it painted today with high gloss black paint.

And I ordered the Geneva rug from Ballard Designs.  It will not be in till April.  Can’t wait.

The suede parson style chairs are from West  Elm.

The picture was a Valentine’s day present from an old boyfriend.  It is a Picasso poster from his blue period.  This year, I will get it a proper frame for it.  And Bruce is ok with the picture because he knows how much I love the image.  Thanks babe.

The Geneva rug.  I selected the natural one.  Image from Ballard’s

Steph’s birthday present that I have not sent her yet.  I promise you will get it soon.

The shelf is from Miss Mandy’s.  Love that store.

And I made a trip to the nursery and purchased a Debutante camellia.  The buds have not bloomed yet so I grabbed the following image from a google image search to show you how beautiful she is.

She looks like a peony!  Yes, it was a great day.

Dawson’s Nursery

Sand and Sea Glass.

Those are the colors of Dawson’s room.  His mommy loves the beach and was even married at the coast.  It was only fitting that little Dawson’s room incorporate the colors of her love affair.

This is genius.  See the top of the palladian window.  The curve makes it so hard to find a good covering when one is needed.  Dawson’s mommy had a piece of wood cut out to fit the top and then painted it to match the color scheme.  Genius!

Cream on cream.  It makes the letters even more peaceful and calm.

The four poster crib fits nicely with the high ceilings.

Once she found this chair and fabric, the room all came together.  Chair was found in Havana at Weezie’s Cottage Living.

Mom had the closet customized with the drawers and shelves for extra storage.

Note the guitar bag.  To get Mom’s attention Dad jumped on stage and started playing and singing.  Needless to say, music will be a big part of Dawson’s life.

The wardrobe tree.  Mom purchased at Wood You and had it painted to go with the nursery.

Painted especially for Dawson by an artist in Sandestin.

“Dawson, remember when you go into the world to keep your eyes and ears wide open.  And be kind, love one another and take care of each other.”

Sandy Paws at Cole Couture

Cole Couture is the  exclusive carrier of Sandy Paws dog collars.

Kristin the designer and creator of each piece did it out of love for her Isabella.  A chocolate lab that was very much loved by Kristin, family and friends.  She went to doggie heaven and Kristin wanted to do this for her.

All profits go to doggie charities.

*Trivia:  Cole Couture is named after another chocolate lab, who is Isabella’s brother.*

You know Cole Couture is a fresh clothing store when this is what the bell ringer looks like.  Love it!

Nursery for Two

This is genius.  Mom wanted to keep the third room in the house, the playroom.  So for Paige’s nursery, she gets to share with her big brother, Jack.

Mom brought the room together with the cohesive use of the color green.  It tied together the pink and blue very nicely.

All the furniture is from Pottery Barn.  The stylish drapes made with love by Nana.

The decals are all from Target.

Paige’s Nana and her mommy was rocked in the chair when they were babies.  Now it’s Paige’s turn.

Crib bedding is also the handiwork of Nana.  It must be nice to have talent like this related to you.

Best little night light.  You just touch it to turn it on.  From Target.

When Mommy was a little girl, she had her Loli doll.  Look closely and you will see a picture of Mommy when she was a baby.  Looks just like Paige.

Why oh why did I not come up with this idea.

Instead of buying a booster chair or keeping the high chair longer than is needed, you get one of these.  It lifts up a regular chair and now big brother Jack fits perfectly at the family table.
